One Month Later...

Professor Henry Tanner growled as he stared at the monitor.  His worst fear had come to life--Steph's mark had activated completely.  Almost.  If she was truly ready, the final blue dot would have settled inside her unintentional tattoo.

The man sighed and rubbed his forehead.  He knew the plan his wife had.  Guards were going to fetch her when the time came and the final injection and her mission for the Superior would begin.  The spaceship they had prepared with Cybertronian technology, aptly named The Streakers, would take off when her body had finished its repairs.

Henry was terrified.  What the hell was he to do? His baby girl was going to begin her sold fate soon and he had to stop it.  What to do, what to do?

The Autobots! He had to find one to help.  When he showed them Project Iron Skin's information they'd believe him! They would just have to!

"Don't worry baby," he whispered and grabbed his jacket, "I won't let you become Breakdown."

"C'mon, Bee! You're here to help me pick out a new Jeep, not check them out," Steph chastised as she crawled out of the green fatigued Jeep.

"Sorry S," the yellow bot apologized.  'Don't mind me! Just listen to your girls and I'll be good."

'I highly doubt that,' Jess and Sari thought together.

The month had passed with ease.  Sar and Jess had finally met Tiffany, which took a major weight off of the other roommate's back.  Four weeks, twenty-eight days, no matter how it was counted Steph and Jess savoured the new life they had with each other.

There were several unsurprising revalations as the month went along.  Jess had become fast friend/enemies with none other than Bumblebee.  They acted just like siblings, which made Steph and Sari laugh whenever they got into trouble.  Steph's serious nature made her close friends with Optimus (strange, but as Prowl once mentioned, 'Stephanie has an old soul.') and Ratchet with her desire to learn about taking care of bots.

What was surprising was that Jess and Steph both developed a small crush on Prowl.  Which, not suprisingly, started catfights.  None were too bad, but Steph once threw a loaf of French bread at her adversary.

Today was a big day though.  Steph had finally saved enough money to pick a new Jeep.  Bee offered to 'drive' with Steph in the front seat so he joined along, but only to whistle at cars.

"Knock it off, Bee!" Jess scolded as they climbed back into the yellow car.  "Act your age!"

"I am acting my age!" Bee objected.  "My aging is different from yours!"

Sari giggled at the two teens.  But then the youngest girl noticed Steph.  She was holding her head in exasperating pain and shaking as she held onto the wheel of the car.

'Steph...' Sari worried.  She didn't mention it to Jess, but she knew about the mark on her left arm.  It had been growing since it showed up early June and now, in July, it was stilll growing.  The light blue mark took up a small chunk of skin and danced on it, each line holding a tiny blue dot on it.

"Guys, can you quiet down?" the teen pleaded with Bee and Jess.  "My head's kinda spinning right now."

"Ok," both muttered.  They had known about Steph's dizzying headaches since they had met.

Jess thought more often of something else.  Steph's split personality, the Shadow Rush state, rarely acted up now.  When it did though it was harder to break the invisible spell on her, like she was attempting to reprogram a robot.  Not easy at all.

"So!" sari yelped, "How about we pop some popcorn and watch Scary Movie 7?"

Jess and Steph both grinned.  "OK!"

Much to their disdain, that night would stop their lives forever.  Steph's life would take a sharp turn toward the shadows while Jess and Tiffany would need to change to save a friend in need.
